5.0 out of 5 stars More Goonery from the Three Masters!
Another quartet of wonderful, wacky Goon Shows from the 1950s, featuring Messrs. Sellers, Secombe, and Milligan. If you've collected the previous 24 volumes--well, you've gotta have this one, which features "The Fireball of Milton Street," "The End," "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu" (hardly PC, but insanely funny), and "The Internal Mountain." One note: the...

Seems to be a duplication as I have two from the same source and I picked different episodes, so I'll use as a gift to another quaintly humoured individual.

Another quartet of wonderful, wacky Goon Shows from the 1950s, featuring Messrs. Sellers, Secombe, and Milligan. If you've collected the previous 24 volumes--well, you've gotta have this one, which features "The Fireball of Milton Street," "The End," "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu" (hardly PC, but insanely funny), and "The Internal Mountain." One note: the version of "The Internal Mountain" contained on these CDs is NOT the 1954 series 4 version as it says on the CD, but is rather the more common "Vintage Goons" re-recording of 1957. And, does anyone know the titles of the wonderful Max Geldray and Ray Ellington songs contained here? (I wish they'd put 'em on the CD liner notes!)

Somewhere up above, sitting at the bar in a pub called Heavenly Grafton's, the Goons are looking down and laughing along with us. Long may they reign!

5.0 out of 5 stars The goons, 14 Aug 2012
This review is from: "Goon Show" 25 (BBC Radio Collection) (Audio CD)
To be honest you have to have grown up listening to the goons on the radio or you maybe have to be slightly mad if you find them and enjoy the crazy humour but they are well worth a listen

5.0 out of 5 stars Number twenty five and counting, 22 Nov 2011

This is the 25th Goon Show CD in this format, bringing the total number of half-hour Goon Show radio broadcasts to one hundred, and counting.

Four more of the half-hour long episodes of the zaniness that is and was the Goon Show, lovingly remastered by Ted Kendall. Peter Sellers (famous wit and character actor), Spike Milligan (the creative genius behind the show), and Harry Secombe (the well-known Welsh tenor and highway obstruction), plus a crazy cast of supporting loonies bringing the madcap antics of the Goons to life.

This disk contains the following shows:
5/22--Fireball of Milton Street
5/26--The End (Confessions of a Secret Senna-Pods Drinker)
6/12--The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu-Manchu
V/9--The Internal Mountain

If you enjoy the bizarre humor of Monty Python's Flying Circus, then come and listen to the crew that inspired the Pythons. It doesn't get any better than this, folks!
