It's a very detailed and very practical book. Images, drawings and descriptions are wonderfully precise - it has it all. One drawback, though - it's a heavy book.

Dublin's not a large city but there's plenty to do for a few days and this book helps you find the main tourist attractions and some of the more out of the way places. As usual it has the mix of written information on locations and then gives some good illustrations of those or of the locality. Tend not to use the restaurant or hotel sections in here prefering to find something quieter although as it's a Dublin guide that has been updated fairly recently it's probably fairly accurate.

One point I'm not sure it makes well is that the buses around Dublin are pretty good and have a number of iPhone apps to assist you. A day pass (6) can be picked up at the nearest Spar and the buses don't give change or take notes.

True to the DK Guide tradition of presentation and information. But I was disappointed by the pages on transport - the Motorway Toll on the stretch by the Airport was not mentioned at all, including where to go to pay (Newsagents that sell electric/gas cards etc and some fuel stations). There was no recommendation to avoid travelling by car through the centre - congestion is bad almost the whole day - public transport network is good although some bus routes out to Greater Dublin are infrequent and information is hard to find. We chose a hotel on the tram network which worked really well for getting into the centre and was reasonably priced.
I would also have liked a more detailed map of greater Dublin.

Gave up on this after being referred to the wrong map locations for many of the items I looked up. Publishers need to check that the map matches the text in future editions!

Great guide. We even accidently found the door on the front cover. Always love these guides and use them around the world.
