5.0 out of 5 stars Organization: Contemporary Principle & Practice, 20 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Organization: Contemporary Principles and Practice (Paperback)
Organization: Contemporary Principle & Practice book by John Child was purchased online, the dispatch was done the next day. The delivery exceeded the due date but Amazon was willing to replace the order but thankfully they did not need to do some because I eventually received the original package. The book is the one approved by Liverpool University for my Online MSc International Management Course with the University. The writers are well informed and the contents are very useful and helpful for students around the world.

I read this book for my Masters' course on Organisations, and I have to say I loved it. I think it marries an incredible amount of depth and richness in conceptual analysis with a very solid review of practical experiences.
It brings together many years of different thoughts, theories and analysis on organisations, firms, markets and successful organisational design in a clear, comprehensive and rigorous manner, in a well written, simple language. Top notch!

4.0 out of 5 stars How to approach Strategic Organization illustrating real case studies, 4 July 2010
By
This review is from: Organization: Contemporary Principles and Practice (Paperback)
Child, illustrated the approaches of strategic organization in a simplistic yet interesting way.
His main point was to make the reader comprehend that the "Forms of Organization" as a principle are fundamental
to achieve a competitive advantage in a volatile and demanding market.
One of the best books to provide practical know-how on organizations and how to organize them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful book but came so late it became useless, 8 Feb 2010
By
This review is from: Organization: Contemporary Principles and Practice (Paperback)
I ordered this book on the 6th of Jan and got it 20 days later when my exam was on the 24th. So not an ideal sitution. As a result I went out to another shop and bought it and the book is very useful for understanding the many aspects of organization. Compared to other books it explains concepts in a much simplier and clear way making it a useful book for all levels of learning.
