This review is from: Fear of Stones and Other Stories (Macmillan Caribbean Writers) (Paperback)
Jamaica has found its voice of alarm in Kei Miller's prose. 'The Fear of Stones' is one of best short fiction collections recommended to me in a while. Some of the stories are painful... Miller has a knack for writing about people who live on the outskirts of their societies: raped women, gay men, witch doctors. I fell in love with each of his characters and always hoped for their safety and triumph. That didn't always happen, unfortunately, but I feel I am a better person for having read these sometimes wonderful, and sometimes wonderfully horrible stories.

A fan for ever!
