5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for the year's stargazing, 26 Feb 2006

This review is from: 2006 Yearbook of Astronomy (Paperback)
The book includes very good sky charts for every month, each one showing at what times of different months the chart applies to. Then, there is a detailed description for each month, explaining what planets are visible, and where to find them. There are a few diagrams explaining how the planets move through the constellations they appear in throughout the year.
There are several articles in the book - some spread throughout the monthly notes, then several more in the second half of the book, which is dedicated to articles by astronomers, historians and the like.
Also, there are tables listing asteroids and comets for year, as well as lunar and solar eclipses.
An excellent handbook, highly valuable to novices and experienced astronomers alike.
