A must read for all women and particularly men to understand why it's important for them to join in the feminist movement and help eradicate violence and sexism towards women. Great eye opener, greatly expressed and argued and with so much insight and honesty. As a woman it made me feel validated. It validated all the hurt and pain endured. It validated my right and anger and of all women and those that love them including males at those men that are conditioned and some to dangerous means. Society needs to change and I support the fight. I learned a lot from the book and it was food for thought and one that I treasure, one that I want many men to read. It doesn't shame anyone but brave enough to be frank about a much neglected and silenced issue which is detrimental to both men and women. It redefines masculinity and strives for a healthier meaning to it that doesn't limit men of their potential as human beings. It shows how issues effects us sociologically and how society shapes us. It calls men to start and look with the man in the mirror and to change and challenge what needs too and make a difference so that we all can live as equals and have healthy relationships and ways of relating to one another. It strives to cut down on oppression and violence against women as well as the sexual objectifying of them and degradation. Women are also those that men love; their mothers, sisters and daughters and we need to protect them as well as giving value and respect to all women so that nobody suffers. Women have suffered at the hands of men for too long and social conditioning is hurting both genders. We need to reunite in the fight, not separate from one another. This book is a voice for those that are silenced, it fights for equality, it challenges males to reject social conditioning and male taught behaviours and it does so with passion, conviction and honesty. This is an awesome book. It's so important to have people use their power for the better.

Jackson lays it on the line guys, if there are women in your life that you love, or boys you want to grow up to be considerate men, then pass this one round to your peers and family. If there is violence of any nature in the world you can bet most of it is perpetrated by MEN, It's a disturbing fact, but demonstrably true.
