Edinburgh is not pronounced EDinBOro. It is pronounced EDinbru.
I'm only half way through the first story but I understand that several of the stories are set in Scotland.
The accent is very poorly rendered. It starts off very Irish.
Munro's writing is forcing the reader recorded here to slowly abandon the Irishness, the spelling is forcing the reader to learn what Scottish people sound like.
I really like Alice Munro and worry that my enjoyment is going to be compromised.
