This review is from: Space: 1999 The Forsaken (Paperback)
Decades ago now we were left with a few questions at the start of series 2. What happened to Paul? What happened to Tanya? This book, set in time between Year 1 and Year 2, provides the answer the those questions.
It actually links into the story of "Space Brain" and begins with a reflection on the Space Brain. Then Alpha is receiving strange musical transmissions that come from a planet Victor has named Havana and which may be suitable for settlement. But computer has trouble providing a translation as there are so many lines coming through. John Koenig decides to lead a small team down to the planet for reconnaissance and to plead their case to the inhabitants. Of course things do not go smoothly and in the end morally hard decisions need to be made.
Again this is a great book the Space: 1999 franchise. The characters are well fleshed out and the relationships between characters are a continuation of what we saw on the screen.
