This book is a bit of a departure for Matt Shaw with the story taking place in America rather than his usual British based horror.
The story follows Craig and his family as they take a much needed vacation to the family cabin in the wilds of the US. An unfortunate incident involving the locals occurs which disrupts the families plans of a quiet, restful break. Alone in the cabin Craig is haunted by the memories of his father's tales of restless spirits in the woods and he is driven into a state of panic by unexplained noises all around him. The story is tense and gradually builds to a shocking and unexpected climax.
Read this book alone, on a dark night and prepare to be scared witless.
