I really enjoyed this book, there were some bits I didn't totally agree with, but what works for one doesn't always work for all! I think Melissa has a very good view on achieving balance when one of you is the bread-winner & the other the home-marker. These are both important roles that require support from the other & the type of support one needs is not exactly the same as the other. She talks about making the partnership work & not letting ego be more important than your marriage, I've seen this criticised as weak, but actually think it is a very zen approach. I don't believe she was saying it more the wife's job to make the husband happy, than vice versa, I think she was saying that holding out on making your husband happy because you feel unappreciated won't make you feel any better & definitely won't make the situation any better. She emphasises communication, empathy & understand, which, I think we can all agree, help any relationships.

As a young woman approaching marriage, I liked her down-to-earth approach & tone.

Enjoy this book, from what I've seen of melissa on housewives you can tell she wrote this book, I liked that joe had his input and I'm glad what they do works for them. Each to their own & nine years later they are still happily married and no one has cheated.

This is a fantastic insight into living with an Italian man.
I saw the other reviews were not that great but went ahead & purchased the book anyway as I love all things real housewives !!
I would recommend this book for any woman dating an Italian man , especially if she herself is not Italian.
I am English & my partner is Italian & wow how I have learnt that everything Melissa talks about in this book is so true....... The respect, the loyalty, the blunt honesty.......... & even what I thought was 'Laziness' but Melissa's book has helped me to see this in a different way.
Love Italian Style is going to be my bible for understanding the man I love but at times find him so hard to get on with.
Thank You Melissa & Joe............... may all your dreams come true :0)x

i seriously am at a loss for words and im sure if you told my hubby that he wouldnt believe you.... so here goes... this has to be the biggest pile of tripe i have ever read and i didnt even read it all. biggest waste of money i ever spent. you want this crazy womans advice here it is DONT POOP.... dont let your hubby know you poop, shave your legs or breath like a normal human being its all about fake fake fake.. why have a real breathing human woman when you can have a life sized doll bloody idiot. the things joe says to his wife are seriously whacked he speaks like a crazy person on a trial transcript thats hacked up his wife and buried her in the garden seriously its abuse straight up MARITAL RAPE yep not above the gorgas. the lies are borderline insane if like me you arent a massive fan of the real housewives franchise but i do watch them a lot but this woman is a viper none of her real self is in this book her affair her ruining his family the fact they are never with their kids but always drinking it up elsewhere then writing a fake ass book full of lies and rubbish masking it as a perfect life hmmm sucks i suckered myself into buying this trife. if you want marriage advice write your own book it will sure be better than this. the writing style is on the same wave length as a kid in primary 4. its juvinile at best and just plain wrong and im afraid thats no exaggeration...

Wow how do I start..... this is a terrible book, and I mean is not worth the paper it was written on it!
My advice... for those unfortunately enough to have bought it... use as fire starter! Since the winter is coming and u may have problems lighting ur fireplace. Because seriously, is not good enough to donate to charity.
To start this book is more a work of fiction ... Melissa gave an interview and stated she met her husband in 2003.. but the book says 2001.... that got me confused... So the first chapter is a lie or the worse typo mistake in publish history.
Never the less... my opinion...
Melissa cant give advice that contradicts her behaviour on TV.
I guess this is another case of "do as I say and not as I do"
Happy marriage advise when Melissa's ex boyfriendS accused her of 2 timming while married.... the grief her husband goes day after day because the problems Melissa has with his family... How Melissa allow her sisters to use the internet to offend her husband's family... nothing of that is addressed in the book!!!

I want a refund ... very very disappointed... nothing on this book has a ring of true... unless you want ur marriage to resemble Mellissa's ( and the drama that follows) otherwise this is not the book for you.
