I have given this book two stars as it is about Android Programming and does provide some help. However the code within the book contains a handful of errors which either makes it a painstaking process debugging someone else's poor code or for the inexperienced programmers next to impossible. In addition the games themselves are only partly playable as, for example, the game loop on the second game is dependent on your mobile phone. Thus making it too fast to play on some and really slow on others to whack-a-mole. My final point is that the book starts, as a typical 'for dummies' book does in explaining everything slowly for a complete novice, however by the later chapters I feel it has been rushed with whole pages of new code not receiving anywhere near the original level of attention (for instance the SQL bit).
In short, it not worth the money.

I like the lay out of the book and the idea of the book sounds really good (it says you can make two games!) . But the reality of this book is you cant make the two games because the code has loads of errors (including annoying syntax errors) I got half way through making the card game and couldn't continue, it was like pages were missing and it felt like it skipped a load of information. I also tried to make the second game which is a whack a Mole game but i couldn't continue that either because the code doesn't work. I worked out some of the errors of the book because i already had some knowledge of Java but the point is there should be no errors.
Overall a complete disappointment and please don't buy unless you like tearing your hair out.
