A highly insightful and thought provoking book, ideal for both the novice and scholars with prior knowledge of Hermetic Philosophy. I await the next three books in this series eagerly, I will definitely be buying them on release! Dr. R. A. Plimer shares his extensive knowledge throughout the book, covering a wide range of topics and providing an engaging and comprehensive introduction, utilising his knowledge of ancient texts to provide the reader with a clear grasp of the argument throughout. A great book!

A simply masterful study and understanding of the Hermetic texts...

Plimer's passion for the subject exudes on every page. Book one (of four) on the Hermetic corpus which also contains Greek translations of the original manuscript.

A must have for those interested in the 'philosophical and spititual development of the individual'...

I love this book, it contains loads of information: historical, spiritual, theosophical etc. along with a copy of Libellus One at the back. This original text is accompanied with a very useful commentary and notes, in fact all you need in an Introductory book!
The author talks about subjects such as Soul, Spirit and Mind with such ease and understanding whilst using the ancient text to explain such complex concepts. The Historical value of this book cannot be underestimated, The Hermetic texts are placed clearly in
their historical time slot, the beliefs and philosophical ideas from earlier periods are outlined as well as the influence Hermetic texts played in later belief systems.
Cant wait for the other books in this series!

Dr R.A. Plimer explains, describes and guides the reader through teachings related to the Hermetic texts from the 2nd and 3rd Century BC. From Neoplatonic perspectives to Alchemical wisdom, this book introduces the methodology and practice behind spititual development of the individual in relation to the hermetic corpus. Well written, argued, described and beautifully translated. The climax of this book being the detailed foot notes written on The 'Poimandres' of Hermes Trismegistus, a true vision into the 'mystical union of the author and the ground of his being.' For those new to the subject matter a fantastic introduction, for the initiated; perhaps a new direction? For the adepts; an adventure to discover some of the occult messages contained within the images texts and ideas. Can't wait for the next!
