5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous
Any who is affected either directly or indirectly by Crohn's really ought to read this book.
John has written a frank and incredibly humorous account of life with Crohn's and gives pointers on how to get the best care for yourself and how to attempt to retain your sanity in the process. He makes some poignant remarks about how the sufferers attitude is paramount to,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
Didn't find it helpful or informative for me! That's a personal thing - it was one man's journey and this condition and symptoms where his and his alone. Its such an individual thing. I have full sympathy for the guy that wrote it and lived it and I'm sure it will help a great deal of people - but unfortunately not for me.

Don't let this put you off buying it...

I have read 50 pages of this book so far; whilst a lot of the contents are mildly informative, the constant use of American spelling and phraseology is driving me up the wall. Reading about a bloke from Blackburn who has a mom and eats fries, drives on the highway and who studied math makes me cringe. I bought the book mostly off the back of other reviews, had the author shown a middle initial (a sure sign of an American book) I would not have purchased it.

Kind of wished I hadn't read it, as being a sufferer of Crohn's for the past 38 years it still informed me of what up until now were unknown to me even more side effects of treatment and manifestations of the disease.
