I consider the very notion of patenting a living organism absolutely inadmissib.le! If, at a time in the future, all prudent safeguards having been established, the splicing of DNA being properly conTrolled and reliably reversible - I might consider its becoming legal, but never a free-for-all and open to essentially commercial and profit-motives, which tend to over-ride long term thinking for the good of nature, including life on the planet!
The current Monsanto-led way and the US administration's acquiescence, including the positions of Thomas Vilsack and Michael Taylor are at least highly suspect - firstname.lastname@example.org
