5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book!!
I normally don't rate books unless they've proven to be outstanding, which is a shame, I know. Well this is one of these books. The authors have written a concise, straight to the point and easy to follow book on how to use Scala and the Akka actors. In each scenarios, real life concurrency examples are demonstrated through easy to understand code snippets. Don't judge...

2.0 out of 5 stars Rather dissapointing
I rarely write book reviews, but after reading this one I felt inclined to give others some heads up. This book is poorly written and very hard to follow - after finishing reading 'Programming in Scala' by Odersky, which we all can agree is a masterpiece and a very good read, this one here is simply a disappointment. Don't judge this book by it's size, with it's some 170 pages only, you'll get plenty of subject coverage to make you an expert in the subject. Well maybe not an expert, but enough to understand the premises of programming in a concurrent and parallel world. Treat yourself and read this on your next long flight, you won't be disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rather dissapointing, 15 Aug 2013

I rarely write book reviews, but after reading this one I felt inclined to give others some heads up. This book is poorly written and very hard to follow - after finishing reading 'Programming in Scala' by Odersky, which we all can agree is a masterpiece and a very good read, this one here is simply a disappointment. Code examples are incomplete and overall the writing style makes me go back and read entire paragraphs again.
