4.0 out of 5 stars A good read! A sweet beginning! An interesting journey!
When a old friend loaned this book to me, she said that the book's author was said to be the real-life inspiration for Michael Jacksons' hit song "Billie Jean". Immediately, my heart started to skip beats, and my friend thought it wise to fill me in on a little of the story about the "lucky" girl in Michael's life. 4.0 out of 5 stars A good read! A sweet beginning! An interesting journey!, 16 Nov 2009
This review is from: Remember the Time: A True Intimate Look at Michael Jackson (Hardcover)
Some have even dubbed her MJ's first girlfriend.

At 12-years old, a little girl from Boston became a zealot of young Michael and apparently touched him with the magic of her "words". In November 1974, at fifteen years old, she flew alone across the country to Las Vegas to meet Michael, and to celebrate her sweet 16th birthday with his family! Michael himself had turned 16 years old only 3 months earlier in August!

This little 80-page book is a must for MJ fans. It is dedicated to "anyone who dares to dream big!" Ms. Gonsalves shares with us her story of her personal relationship with Michael through a series of letters to Michael, her "scarecrow":

"It is time I tell [the story] my way. Michael and I met because of my letter writing...this book is a series of letters to him in the "after life" that takes you on a journey through our personal memories that we shared."

"With you, I share my photos, my journals, my thoughts, our intimacies, just as I did with
him."

"So, I invite you to come along with Michael and me to remember the time!"

An interesting look...I recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theresa Gonsalves the real Bilie Jean - enjoyable reading, 9 Jan 2010
This review is from: Remember the Time: A True Intimate Look at Michael Jackson (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this book, it shows a personal side of Michael Jackson. It's written by Theresa Gonsalves and is her own true story. As a fan, from her teenage years, Theresa regularly wrote letters to Michael and because of her tenacity she eventually gets to meet him and his family. Theresa tells of how her friendship with Michael develops and after a couple of years thier relationship becomes intimate. In later years, Theresa became pregnant by another man who first denied he was the father of the baby and this was Michaels inspiration for the song Billie Jean. This book is written in the format of letters to Michael from Theresa and I found it most enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars fantasy fiction, 8 Oct 2012
This review is from: Remember the Time: A True Intimate Look at Michael Jackson (Hardcover)
theresa was an obsessed stalker kind of fan to michael. she did indeed meet him and michael did indeed invite her to his house in new york, but he invited many of his fans over to visit with him.

theresa has sold her story many, many times over before 2009. she spoke to tabloids in 1984 claiming she was michael's billie jean because of how she'd conceived her child, where she didn't know who the father was - as though this was something to want to brag about - and spoke to taraborrelli, and geraldo, and bashir and many, many, many talkshows about michael. she admits to revolving her entire life around him, even becoming a jehova witness in an attempt to get closer to him. michael didn't have any contact with her after her stay in 1977 and after realizing how obsessive and in love with him she was. at no time before 2009 did she ever say anything romantic or touchy feely happened between her and michael. she claims michael wanted her to speak out about him, of course she would, she's selling this book now, but if this were the case it boggles the mind why she chose to focus on spinning negative stories just about her obsession with him than about anything romantic.

the father of theresa's baby from back then has spoken out about how deluded she was and how she has made all of this up in her head. i guess with michael gone she could finally make her life long dreams into a reality for herself and a few others.

i know fans want to believe in this kind of a story, because nobody ever tells of this side of michael, and though i know that side of him existed and he did indeed have many private relationships with women, theresa was definitely not one. save your money for someone not seeking to exploit him and his memory by turning themselves into the star of his life.
