We used this guide this summer and managed to cycle 330kms along the canal. The book was indispensable! Full of really useful information, also lets you know when to cross to the other side of the canal/river. I would not have attempted such a journey without the book. There was just one omission that I noted, the fact that there is a campsite in Pontivy, just by the canal. Also there should be a warning to cyclists about the poor quality of the track through Finistere. In some places the signage wasn't good, but if the guide was followed you shouldn't get lost.

This guide gives lots of detail plus interesting facts to add to the experience of traveling this route. It made us wish we had the time to do the whole route instead of just a couple of sections. We have used other books from the 'Red Dog' press and will look out for more in future. Two minor 'negative' comments though - the pages don't quite follow smoothly - it took us a while to get the hang of it. Also, it might be useful to have the maps superimposed on to sections of the IGN maps to give a bit of a broader picture although this may not be possible due to copyright or scale.

We cycled the Brest-Nantes Canal in 2013 using this book and additional on-line research. We found the guide well written, entertaining and very helpful. We cycled the opposite direction to the guidebook which did make it more of a challenge to use as some of the pages are not obviously linked.

The canal is very well signposted and fairly straight forward to navigate so we didn't find the actual navigation challenging, but if you take some of the detours to investigate the extras you may want to buy a proper IGN map.

I found it very informative. However I have still to work out the cycle routes described in it ie the map legends I found much more oriented to walkers.

I hope to be able to use this book this summer or next. Well laid out and seems sturdy enough to be handled on route

A little disappointing. A good book well presented but I was looking for something to help plan a cycle trip and although its got lots of information & history, nothing at all on the state of path, inclines, terrain etc.

Arrived on time, in good packaging. Particularly liked the spiral binding, looking forward to using it with the copious number of coloured photos and maps in it.
