It's not often that you get a fun architecture book. From experience they're mostly pretty dry - so I was really excited to see a book aimed at kids as well as adults. As an introduction to the joys of architecture, this is fantastic - with nuggets of information but plenty of room for imagination, it gets kids thinking about architecture in an engaged way. The illustration is beautiful - I've seen Thibaud Herem's work elsewhere and it can be quite serious, but here he uses a looser, warm style, and the writing has a warmth to match (not that there's that much of it). It's also pretty good value for money. I paid £10 and I'd say for the size of book, it's a very fair price.

It's not for little ones - probably a bit to sophisticated for the under 8s, but for older kids, and for architects in need of a little bit of fun to remind them why they chose that career - this is the book!

An inspiring and engaging approach to various facets of architecture - from buildings to architectural styles and down to fittings. Very personable drawings from Thibaud Herem, whose usual meticulously detailed style has given way here to a much freer, child-like illustrative approach. The short texts are informative and accessible, inspiring adults and children alike to think about how they might engage with the specific illustration and with architecture generally. Also very nicely packaged - a big and satisfying book.

I loved the book and gave it to my granddaughter for her 10 th birthday. She loved it too.
I would happily spend time using it myself. Lots of inspiration for drawing & design ideas.

I would have preferred to see inside this book as it was a little basic. However, my daughter liked it!

I had expected this book to be more exciting. I did not think it would inspire the young to draw houses. I think they would be better using their imaginations.
