This is a fantastic book. The author's knowledge of DSP and synthesis and obvious teaching background make this an exceptional text. Not only does it take you through step by step "how-to" of sound design making it ideal for the novice; but the clear and concise layout makes it a must have reference text for even the most experienced sound designer.

I found the introduction to Pure Data Audio programming language particularly useful.
