I came across this book by pure chance and my goodness what serendipity that was.

I already have many of the Dan Dare Books together with Road of Courage and Garth.
The former are well know and do not need any introduction.
Frank Bellamy's worth on the Garth strips are stunning.

Make no mistake Bellamy was one of the finest graphic Book artists ever.

This book is really excellent.
The first few pages have a really outstand piece on how the myth of King Arthur evolved.

It really is scholarly but really easy to read. It really gives credit to the French for enhancing the Arthurian Legend- something I was not aware of before.

To the art work it really is good, black and white but the draftsman like capture of form by Frank Hampson is wonderful.

True Arthur does look a bit too 'clean cut' and a cute a baby faced Arthur at that- Just look at the cover drawing and you will see what I mean.

The language used is very tame and is of its time when the place was a whole lot cleaner and less tawdry. This is Eagle type prose of the 60s in its style and content.

But the rest of the strip is more than made up for. Bellamy is a master of Art.
The horses, armor fighting and moreover the pace is excellent.

As a bonus we get a set of strips featuring the 'Swiss family Robinson'

I really would encourage checking out this book.
I have ordered its sister book "The Complete Adventures of Robin Hood": just after one sitting of reading this book.
The others mentioned are worth getting too

Frank Bellamy's work is Fantastic to see in print, this book along with the Robin Hood stories reprints!
I hope more of Frank's work will see the light of day, in the next few years!
His draughtsmanship is at the peak of graphic art over the past 50 or more years!!!
From the stylistic to the high action strips of Dan Dare, Thunderbirds and Garth to mention but a few!!!

THE KING ARTHUR HALF IS GREAT FUN BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE REST OF THE BOOK IS 1 PAGE STRIPS OF SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON AND EVEN THE GREAT FRANK BELLAMY HAS PROBLEMS RESCUING THAT. IN GENERAL, HIS ROBIN HOOD IS BETTER.
