I thought the book was a really good read and gave a realistic account of how hard it is to be a ballerina. It was also quite humorous in places and sad in others but it is written in a way that was easy to understand even if you know nothing about ballet (like myself). You don't have to be a big ballet fan to enjoy this book as it's the type of story that could be told through the hardships of other sports. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys readings biographies and especially if you want an inside view of the ballet world.

Interesting to read about the training and determination of this young lady but would have liked to have known more once she was set on her dancing career, I wondered if the cold harshness of the training was reflected in her as a dancer.,
