5.0 out of 5 stars I had no idea.....
I am an alternative healer and have known for some time that stinging nettles can be put to a number of uses, but this book has been a real eye-opener. It's written in a friendly chatty style, at times funny, but all the 101 uses are quite valid. Some are historical but many can still be used today. I have a whole new respect for this amazing plant and am already using it...

3.0 out of 5 stars More of a list than I expected
Although this book does what it said on the tin I had expected a little more detail on some of the uses rather than a brief insert. There is clearly a multitude of uses for this overlooked plant and it would be nice to deconstruct its misconception as a useless and irritating weed; to some extent this book does that but with further explanation our parks and gardens...

So you thought nettles were an unwelcome growth in your garden...think again. This is a fascinating book and I have loved reading it. The recipes are great and who would have known you can make string and garden bindings from the flattened stalks? I particularly liked the medicinal applications. No more expensive exfoliating ointments needed either. Nettles have it all!
I no longer look at nettles with disdain, they are our friends and like so much in nature, they have so many properties which are beneficial to our health.
I recommend this book.

It shows many uses for nettles but some are a bit impractical or maybe old wives tales. Still a good book for those who want to garden naturally

You just won't believe what you can use nettles for! Bought as a joke present for my elderly mother who is very unhappy at the general decrease in natural vegetation in our village, particularly a plot full of nettles that some local busy body keeps dousing with weed-klller. Eat them, wear them, I think thay could be the saviour of our universe......
