5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Service
Item arrived within two days with a handwritten thank you note !!!!!!! The seller is obviously a Cumbrian!!!!

Item perfect and reminds me so much of home. I now have the wife reading it so she can understand me when I lapse back into the language of the Gods.

Only drawback is i get homesick every time I pick it up.

This is simply a list of words and definitions. True, that is generally what a dictionary / glossary is, but with a dialect dictionary it would have been nice to see some local character in the definitions.

This is simply a list of words and definitions. True, that is generally what a dictionary / glossary is, but with a dialect dictionary it would have been nice to see some local character in the definitions.

This is essentially a VERY cut down version of Dickinson's dictionary of over 150 years ago, as such more contemporary dialect words are missing entirely - the content is very olde English.

That is another problem here. It may be because some dialect words have transferred into common use across the country but there seem to be far too many words here which are not very regional at all. That excuse cannot be used for the inclusion of so many regular English words with a very slight pronunciation variation, however.

All in all a bit if a disappointment.
