This handbook is great! It guides the novice surfer through to the advanced surfer and breaks down and explains the key manoeuvres. It is also packed with loads of extras such as: best global surf spots, a little oceanography and meteorology lesson, and gear and technical talk. It includes nutrition tips to help your performance, as well as some useful core strength-, Yoga- and Pilates exercises to help you get surf fit! It contains travel tips and advise from the pros and addresses environmental issues too.
This manual is well written and explained, easy to understand and accompanied by great pictures of the pros! It's really inspiring and makes you want to go surfing and improve!
Great buy! I can recommend it to all the girls that want to get into surfing and learn the basics through to the advanced that want to push themselves to the next level!
I've been surfing for over 13 years and with five years of surf coaching experience I know how important it is to get all the basics down right at the very beginning in order not to get into wrong habits, no matter if you are a novice or working on advanced manoeuvres. This manual will guide you through, provide this valuable information and speed up your learning curve!

I was looking for tips and advice to improve my surfing and enjoy Surfgirl Magazine, so I've checked out Surfgirl's Handbook and have been impressed. It's covered everything I can think of that I or any of my friends would need to know about starting to surf, and has really good advice on training, eating healthily and what you need before you even hit the water.

The book looks great, lots of inspirational pictures to get you motivated to surf- whether it's in the UK or a surf trip abroad. I especially liked the `Escape' chapter that gives you the breakdown on where to travel to around the world, what to expect and what £20s will get you.

Beginner surfers would be very encouraged by the book, especially as it gives a comprehensive explanation of what you need, techniques for when you are in the surf, and most importantly- water safety. Whereas for the more intermediate or advanced surfer, there is a good amount of advice for how to progress, improve techniques and even for `what not to do' when going for bigger/better waves.

The book would make a really good gift, or would help give you a boost when you need some inspiration to surf on those grey cloudy/colder days (which can be any day in the UK of course).

The SurfGirl Handbook is a great theory tool; from both a personal and professional perspective.

Aesthetically it is gorgeous to look at, with bright, clear photos, lots of ripping surfer girls and a funky layout that keep you turning pages.

The content is what counts though, and I have been using this to improve my own surfing; breaking down advanced manoeuvres, reading up on confidence tricks, battling out at bigger breaks and even power-surfing smoothies!

As a freelance surf coach I have also been using it to assist with my Oakley Surf Sistas course, as it provides easily understood instructions and sound advice that my students seem to gobble up.
It also enables me to have a solid back up to any questions from students that might throw me off balance.
It literally IS the ultimate guide.

However, I'm yet to venture into chapter six; work it, but I promise to give it a go and get pumped for the fitness section soon!

Girls this is highly recommended by me, get it and get your shred on!

This book really helped to improve my surfing and boost my confidence in the water. The board guide certainly helped me to find the perfect board for my size and ability. It has stunning pictures that really make you want to go and surf the world! Worth the money and much more...every girl should have one.

Now I just need to learn to swim. I wish there were more swimming tips. I'm not sure if you can wear armbands on a surfboard or if that's a faux pas. I will try it out at the surf retreat I'm going on next week.

Another great publication from Surfgirl Magazine! Beautiful pictures and a really chunky read, its the perfect present for your friend, girlfriend, mum, sister, whether they surf already or are wanting to learn. It has in depth guidance on beginner and advanced manoeuvres, breaks down alot of the technical jargon associated with equipment and has some really good fitness advice and exercises that are easy to follow. The book and particularly its travel section has really inspired me, I definitely recommend it!

Love the book, brief descriptions and filled with lots of tips. The seller was helpful and friendly when my book didn't arrive due to bad postal service. They simply resent it without any problems.

Looked really good, great pictures, great everything, but it turns out that nothing is really new under the sun. And then it rides on a almost a spiritual wave at the end, which I really could have lived with out. It is really just an empty magazine published in the shape of a book
