A little basic understanding of the weapon is needed if this book is to help you.The book is well presented with good diagrams, they take a little time to work out but once understood they are of great value.Another plus with this book is that it touches on nunchaku kata again superbly illustrated. The only drawback with this book is that Mr Kanazawa seems to have stopped short,I feel he could of gone on further.None the less a great book to have.

Although an older text, Soke Kanazawa’s nuchaku book is a brilliant book, it is clear and concise. The photos are clear and easy to follow. The basics are covered well, and there is plenty included to work on and practice. Offers plenty of detail for basic nuchaku skills, and covers all the main pointers and technical points to get started. A great book for anyone interested in traditional Japanese Martial Arts, a great book for any Shotokan stylists looking to branch out!
