4.0 out of 5 stars An Edwardian Erotic Classic
The Year 2000 reviewer of this book may have some technical correctness in castigating this book for its descriptions of under-age activity, but he/she is surely missing the point. This is a classic, almost certainly by Charles Carrington and published in 1905, and it describes activities in which the age of participants is almost an irrelevant feature of the (mostly...

1.0 out of 5 stars a book for paedophiles
I am a keen fan of erotica and in particular the bondage theme however I found this book very disturbing. In my view this books caters to those with paedophile tastes with frequent references to girls as young as 12 or 14. This may be the authors idea of appropriate adult entertainment but it certainly isnt mine! I am not in the least surprised that he or she has...

4.0 out of 5 stars An Edwardian Erotic Classic, 4 Dec. 2006

The Year 2000 reviewer of this book may have some technical correctness in castigating this book for its descriptions of under-age activity, but he/she is surely missing the point. This is a classic, almost certainly by Charles Carrington and published in 1905, and it describes activities in which the age of participants is almost an irrelevant feature of the (mostly fictional) times depicted. This is the legendary work featuring personae such as Elaine Cox, Noreen, Linda, Connie, Sally and Valerie, and their 'tormentors' Ibrahim, Miss Martinet and Dr Jacobus. It could be considered repetitive - one of the faults of this genre - but it will always remain a classic, in itself representative of its era.
