3.0 out of 5 stars Informative but outdated, 2 Mar 1999
By A Customer
If you need to build a old fashion Linux Server with UUCP, I think it is a great book for you. But if you need to build a web server, Samba or firewall, try to get another one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Outdated, and fails to cover some important areas., 15 Jan 2000
By A Customer
The book is noticabely outdated. Considerable space and emphasis is given to UUCP, whilst much of the internet side of networking is not covered in any depth - or at all. For example, Cnews is dealt with in some detail, but INN is passed over in a few sentences.
A book of most value to someone needing to set up a LAN using UUCP. To be honest you're better off downloading the network Administrator's Guide from the Linux Documetnatin Project.
