The simple step by step approach used in this book is the reason for its greatness. Tranceformations totally demystifies the process of hypnosis and it's application. When reading a "how to" book, people get the "how" to do something - this book also tells you why the techniques work so well. This allows for the reader to recognise that ALL LANGUAGE is hypnotic. It's just a matter of recognising patterns that exist and then using them to fit the situation. This book spells out those patterns - how and why they work, and gives plenty of examples to demonstrate and excercises to practice. After reading this book a few times I started to realise why the price remains high. Also, at the back there is a DERREN BROWN style mind reading trick to practice. A truly awsome book!

I have read this book countless times. Second-hand it seems to command a premium up to ten times the cover price. That alone is a clue to the quality within. But mine ain't for sale - not at a hundred times the cover price.
This book IS a transcription of a seminar given by the authors. It works well because in writing the book they have paid attention to their own teaching and convey their material with skill and consummate art. Here you will learn not only how to emulate Ericksons hypnotic techniques but also to understand how and why they work. This added knowledge helps you learn to frame inductions that are appropriate and relevant to each context, and all the more powerful for being so. As you listen to the story unfold, the picture becomes ever clearer until you feel you knew it all along. Probably you did, and soon you will understand why.

Easy flowing style, non-technical language, natural and enjoyable, it is in my experience one of the finest start-ups available to introduce someone to the field of Ericksonian Hypnosis. John Grinder and Richard Bandler managed to put together a book that offers you first rate experiential learning from the reading, which is no easy task. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enhance the effectiveness and impact of their communication. Buy 2- one to mark up and tear pages out of, and one to keep nice and clean! Bye for now!

Not only is this book entertaining, the authors can't help
but employ the same verbal techniques that they are teaching.
This way, you learn by example both consciously and unconsciously.
The appendix has an outline version of the various patterns one
I borrowed this from the library and I'm just
tired of not being able to refer to such a gem so as soon as I
finish this review, I'll be purchasing it, too.

Wouldn't it have been great to learn hypnosis from Bandler and Grinder when they were training together? This book is transcribed from live training is a goldmine of descriptions methodology and opportunity to assimilate the wonderful examples of Ericksonian hypnosis in action. They demonstrate how to use hypnosis in a trully creative and intelligent way. Bandler and Grinder give such wonderful descriptions and great examples of what they are teaching. Take the time to read it digest its contents and allow your unconscious mind the way of providing the right kind of examples that provide you with a holographic learning experience.

If you're looking for a guide to the structure of hypnotic
language or techniques, and you need practical exercises
and loads of examples, this is for you! Compiled from their
seminars, Grinder and Bandler give an enjoyable performance
while enlightening their readers with anecdote, metaphor,
and example. Definitely a "must have" for beginning through
advanced students of hypnosis and NeuroLinguistic Programming.

Hi reader, if your anything like me.. I know you will have looked for the best hypnosis books you can find and you may have even bought a couple and perhaps felt a little disappointed..
Well let me say first of all that when you open this book (that's written Clearly and succinctly By Richard Bandler and John Grinder) you might discover as you flick through the pages a growing sense of joy, because it's not just about how clearly the powerful techniques are layed out for you it's more about noticing the amazing responses you will get back as you play with the language patterns and other techniques, in everyday life!
I have owned this book for two years now and thinking back to when it first arrived.. I still find myself flicking to my favorite bits in this book and you always discover something new.. which is a joyful feeling!
Buy this book if your wanting to be given the tools that fine tune and sharpen your hypnotic skills, and also Buy this book if your like me two years ago and looking for the best place to begin your journey into this Fascinating world of conversational Hypnosis!

Own this book, forget this review.
I enjoyed the distillation and concepts concerning hypnosis. Bandler and Grinder once again create something out of their experiences that will truly create deep thinking about hypnosis.
It's a very good book concerning hypnosis and the patterns of linguistics. Life is grand!
