Reviewing: 'The Perennial Psychology of the Bhagavad Gita'-by the Late Swami Rama. Here is a truly wonderful book by Swami Rama of the Himalayan Institute. This Book is superbly written by one who knows his subject both intellect- ually and from raw, first-hand experience of 'treading the Path' of Truth that he teaches. Swami's knowledge of both Eastern and Western psychology and psycho-therapies seems to be immense! He brings this great knowledge to each verse of the Gita, explaining it in minute detail in Layman's terms; each verse is presented in its original Sanskrit script, then delt with in good plain and simple English. The Moral, as well as the Profound Trancendental Essense of the Gita is brought out and shown to be of profound practical use in a modern-day context. I would highly recommend this book for those who are contemplating going into psychology, psychaitry and social council- ing;it would give them that 'something more and special,'that Swami Rama says is still sadly lacking in those areas today.Swami Rama has written many other book of a similar nature.
