I love the Splash books, they are filled with submissions by amateur & professional painters. Even if you don't like a painting, there is something you can learn from it: how better to use colour, or composition, or you can see where a brighter key would have helped.
Some of the work in this book will be better than your own, some will be of lower quality.
The pictures in this first edition look a bit dull: that might be a printing problem, or it might be the colours that the artists were using. Anyway, they aren't as bright & clear as the photos in later books. It's still a useful addition to the watercolorist's bookshelf
