3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, passionate and useful
Rebecca Brown is quite a controversial character and some have given her a hard time trying to discredit much of what she says in her books. That aside, I like the central theme of this book - holiness. That we must hunger for purity in order to be set free from any form or curse on our lives. I am not convinced with all of the theological premise made in this work,...

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Must Read" for any dedicated Christian!, 11 Feb. 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
I could not put this book down. Christians WAKE UP. The information in this book is real and will change your life if you put it into practice. Draw near unto God and He will draw near unto you. I have actually used the information in this book and saw similar results as Dr Brown. Let "Unbroken Curses" cause you to examine your relationship with God and the lives of your relatives. Listen to the still small voice of God and follow the guidance of His Holy Spirit. If you're wondering why people don't agree with this or other books by Dr Brown read 1 Cor 2:14!

5.0 out of 5 stars EVERYONE needs a copy of this book!, 7 Dec. 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
This is probably in the top three books that a Christian should own. In our modern day "happy, happy, joy, joy" churches, the subject of curses is swept under the rug if not outright denied. Christians Must be aware that curses DO exist and, yes, Christians can be, and are often, cursed. An excellent text on removing curses and preventing new ones. No matter your spiritual disposition, denomination or beliefs, this book should definitely be in your personal collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Many Bad Things Happen To Good People, 26 July 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
Unbroken curses, written by Dr Rebecca Brown of "He Came To Set The Captives Free" and her husband, Daniel Yoder, talks of the many doorways that Christians leave open, allowing Satan to curse their lives. The doorways are not always noticeable, such as ancestral dorways, thus the importance of walking close to God to hear Him speak to you should such dorways exist in your life. Quoting from many examples, this book shows the mistakes made by many Christians which allow Satan to curse them and how we can break those curses in the mighty Name of Jesus. In the book are signs that Satan is bringing about a "revival" in idol worship and that many of the Eastern religions are uniting against Christianity. The last chapter of the book, "The Court Of Final Appeal", shows how believers are able to come to the Throne Room of God, in the Name of Jesus, to ask Him to judge their lives. This book will lead you to the victorious Christian life that you have been seeking. Lawrence Yue

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, passionate and useful, 27 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
Rebecca Brown is quite a controversial character and some have given her a hard time trying to discredit much of what she says in her books. That aside, I like the central theme of this book - holiness. That we must hunger for purity in order to be set free from any form or curse on our lives. I am not convinced with all of the theological premise made in this work, but believe that with a balanced approach and the bible in your other hand you will find a lot of truth here that will genuinely bring 'freedom and deliverance'. It has personally changed my understanding of demonic oppression and feel it is an important book to read, but have given it a 3 star rating as it's not the best written book in the world. I got the feeling that she was finding scriptures to define her experience for some parts rather than seeing experience in the light of scripture. I also think that she, like many others in this field of ministry, is almost working by numbers... the form of ministry has become a formula rather than listening to the Holy Spirit. Yet, she forms a helpful framework from which, with prayer, fasting and the word of God, I have seen many people know real freedom in their lives.

Read it if you can be objective and have the theological candour to test it with scripture

5.0 out of 5 stars The devil isn't going to like this., 24 Aug. 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
Another extremely thought provoking, yet Biblically based book by Rebecca Brown. This time with the assistance of her husband Daniel Yoder.
I have read many such books on this subject. I listen to what each author has to say and weight it against the Holy Scriptures. This is the only way to ascertain any level of truth or credibility in their content.
I find it very difficult to argue with Rebecca Brown. Her approach is different to most, but the fundamental truth of what she says shines through.
The hostility and discrediting reviews of others here seem to have little if any foundation. None that I can find make any attempt to show where they consider Rebecca Brown to be in error.
The basis of all Rebecca Brown's teachings and methods are to glorify & obey God, follow Jesus, be sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit and to stand upon God's Word and instructions when facing the devil.
I have faced problems in my own life and having read Rebecca Brown's books and the Scriptural principles involved, the problems no longer exist.
At the end of the day, everything in her books must be weighed totally against the written Word of God. If this principle is followed and there is no error, then what is the problem ?
Kindest regards. By the way I thoroughly enjoyed this book, together with 'He Came To Set The Captives Free' and 'Prepare For War' by the same author.

You really should read this book!

I have read many Christian authors, I find Rebecca's books impossible to put down. This one is no exception. I have passed it on to many friends. She hits us right between the eyes with the truth. I wish her many blessings and hope she will continue with her work.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Biblical teaching is unknown to most Christians - that what seems to be an innocent act can be spiritually damaging, 31 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Unbroken Curses: Hidden Source of Trouble in the Christian's Life (Paperback)
Included in this book's teaching is how what we say to others, especially children, whether it is a negative criticism or warm praise or encouragemwent, can have long-reaching affects on the one who is blessed or cursed with destructive or affirming words.

This deals with a rarely discussed or known subject which involves how what may be seen simply as bad luck has a real cause or root in the past. There are spiritual and psychological forces that affect us, that we can absorb and unwittingly pass on to others, especially to the next generations, good and bad.
