A sensitive and illuminating study, 16 July 2010

+Hilarion's work on St. Isaac remains one of the most insightful studies of this rediscovered (at least for westerners, he was never forgotten in the East) saint. He supports his argument with plentiful quotations from St. Isaac's works - which is one of the delights of this study. He covers a lot of ground in a short space, and of all the aspects of this excellent book, the chapters dealing with St. Isaac and God's love for us are the most moving. St. Isaac is one of the most moving of the Christian mystics, and this book does him a great service; buy it.
