This review is from: WITH REVERENCE AND AWE PB (Paperback)
This book deals with many aspects concerning the changing nature of Christian worship. It deals with the current demand for modernity in music and many of the bolt-on features now prominent in so many church services.
It seeks to bring Christians back to a form of worship which is as prescribed by God and therefore acceptable to Him. It stresses that worship is not for man to innovate and play around with for his own pleasure but that it is to be offered in a context of awe and reverence for the Almighty God who is so different from us in so many ways.
It will bring the "worship wars" debate back to the touchstone of scripture which is the sole authority for all our worship and will hopefully curb the excesses indulged in by some churches.
A really excellent book on this subject. Not one for charismatics, flag wavers and dancers in the aisles although it might do such people good to read it. A great investment!
