I have just re-read What We May Be after 18 years, and it is nothing short of remarkable. I remember intuitively grasping its concepts without true understanding in 1989, and as the years have unfolded (my entelechy) and many experiences of heart, mind and beyond have been had, the utter brilliance and profundity of the words contained within only make me marvel at the gifted awareness of Roberto Assagioli, who this book is mostly dedicated to. Psychosynthesis (usually lumped in with transpersonal psychology) has to be be one of the best kept secrets in the world of psychoanalysis, which in my humble opinion, it has more to offer in its inherent beauty, complexity and synthesis of the human spirit. I see in Assagioli's visions and techniques a very accessible way to discover the true essence of our Selves without being lost in Eastern forms of mysticism, that I sometimes struggle to relate to with a western orientated education. If anything, Ferrucci's book (first published 1982) can be viewed as a forerunner to other modern forms of Self growth and human potentiality such as facets of NLP, and Wilbers Kosmic Consciousness (aka Integrative Analysis). Namaskara.

Peter Ferrucci enriches Roberto Assagioli's Psychosynthesis and gives many gentle step-by-step guided journeys and meditations that assist the reader to experience the vast love and unlimited knowledge of the soul.
In this classic book Mr. Ferruci reveals his highly creative artistry with words that inspire. Using his excellence as a trained psychologist and spiritual leader, he has produced a very fine synthesis of transforming one's personality through spiritual contact. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who is awakening to the spiritual world.

I discovered this gem about 10 years ago at a time when I was searching for a way to change my life, to be happier, and to make some sense of the things going on. There is no psycho-babble in this book. Instead, what you find are very simple exercises designed to take you along a path. The exercises are deceivingly simple. At first, I thought that just reading them was enough, and I did feel better just reading them. But when I actually took the time to do one, I discovered that I felt EVEN BETTER, so I began from the beginning, working through every exercise.
For years, this book has been my secret, the tool that I used to help me that I didn't share with anyone. Now that I'm busy creating the life I have always wanted, I understand that there is enough for everyone, and want to share this book with the world. If you want to change your life, if you are seeking for something you can't quite describe, this book may just have your answers. But don't make my m! ! istake and just read it--do the exercises!! That made all the difference for me.

Having a great interest in psychology and BA degree in psychology I would highly recommend this book to all people who are lost, confused or just simply want something to inspire or change your life either drastically or in some pleasant minor ways. It's THAT varied! You can choose the degree of impact yourself. I bought the used copy in Oxfam shop in Warwick University (obviously some clever student read it and did a good deed by donating it to Oxfam). I love picking jewels like that by accident.Obviously this book was waiting for me there!Definately a 'must read' book!
PS It's not one of them self help books that you bin after reading a couple of pages!:)

Wonderful book. This is my second copy, I lent my first one to a friend who liked it so much she never gave it back! Steers clear of much of the abstract jargon found in many other psychology and spiritual books, whilst remaining more grounded than a lot of the "new age" self development ones. Ferrucci's writing is warm and accessible and his elucidations and explanations clear and profound. Highly recommended.
