5.0 out of 5 stars Trying to understand the unimaginable, 22 Feb 2003
This review is from: Encyclopedia of Genocide (Hardcover)
An excellent book on a topic that should be of great concern to all people. It's more than just a list of horrors and tries to explain issues such as how genocidal acts come about, why they occur, the denials of these acts and what people are doing now to recognise and stop it.
I found myself asking why I should ...[buy]... this 2 volume set and the only justification I could come up with was these books would provide me with a constant reminder of how brutal and murderous humanity is and how far short we fall from the ideals that we think we follow/aspire to.
