5.0 out of 5 stars This is a must have reference for identifying marine fishes
This book does a good job of identifying and classifying marine fishes. It clearly identifies the Feeding, Lighting, Compatibility, Tank Decor, Tank Level, Temperature, and Specific Gravity for every fish in the book. An index is provided using both the scientific names and the most common names. This book does not have any text on how to keep an aquarium. It's...

This review is from: Dr. Burgess's Atlas of Marine Aquarium Fishes (Hardcover)
It's purpose is to identify fish!

This review is from: Dr. Burgess's Atlas of Marine Aquarium Fishes (Hardcover)
It has a very comprehensive list of fish, most of which will never see the inside of an aquarium, for example the manta ray. It would have been useful if common names had been included even though they can be unreliable. Due to the advances in marine aquarium technology and knowledge since this addition was published, a fair amount of the information is out of date and just plain wrong. It is therefore mostly useful for identification of fish only.
