This review is from: Seren Wen ar Gefndir Gwyn (Paperback)
This book is in Welsh (though I think there is an English translation) and is a novel in the science-fiction/fantasy genre. The language used is the spoken dialect of North Wales and is quite different from the usual written form of the language. This makes it hard to read (especially for a learner such as myself), though it works well to read out loud (fortunately I have learnt Welsh in the North so the dialect used is not too unfamiliar). Also, the plot is not entirely straightforward (it is essentially the story of a journey, but seems to be quite surrealistic). Still, the language can be enjoyed and little snippets of the story understood and it is worth persevering with. I will probably try reading it again as my command of the language improves (having become somewhat more familiar with Llywelyn's writing style will probably help as well)...
