5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly as it says, 24 Nov 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Essential Cognitive Psychology (Paperback)
This book is a great guidebook to the essential parts of cognitive psychology theories and the timeline of cognitive psychology. It has helped me to no end on my undergraduate cognitive psychology module and other areas of psychology in general. The book is well written, referenced and contains a large number of helpful diagrams.

The book covers all of the important areas of cognitive psychology- origins, perception, attention, memory (lots of memory), knowledge, imagery, language (lots of language too) and even goes into reasoning and problem solving. The wide range of subjects included makes this book excellent for many areas of psychology.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Godsend!!, 28 Jan 2012
This review is from: Essential Cognitive Psychology (Paperback)
This book was a Godsend whilst I was at Uni as it explains everything in very basic and simple terms, yet detailed enough for University level. The layout is very simple which I like as it makes it a very easy book to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good cog psychology textbook, 22 Jan 2010
This review is from: Essential Cognitive Psychology (Paperback)
The book is written in an understandable language (particularly when compared to other cog psych books I read), however some lecturers (psychology degree) suggest it doesn't explore cog psychology in a real depth. Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend it, as psychology students are expected to use more than one source of info for a module anyway.
