5.0 out of 5 stars MOTORCYCLING AN ILLUSTRTATED SOCIAL HISTORY
This is a book looking at motorcycles and their owners, an unusual and intetresting viewpoint. We all have shelves of books about bikes, but not very much on how they were used and by whom. Roger has used photographs from the start of the 20th Century when motorcycles would have been used by the local clergy or Doctor. A rich man's transport became more popular after the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.
An interesting book, with lots of previously unseen pictures. This book views motorcycling from a social history point of view and puts the scenes into the context of the time. Unfortunately, there are many problems with the captions with inaccuracies, some quite obvious. To anyone with a knowledge of vintage motorcycles, it is disappointing, just looking to find the...

A rich man's transport became more popular after the First World War, with ex WD bikes being sold off. Often dad's bike was the only transport available and was looked after with pride.
A very interesting read with plenty of photographs and informative, often humerous comment. Well done Roger.

In short, a worthy buy but don't view as a work of reference.

A good read if you are a motor cycle enthusiast and want to see how the motor cycle evolved amongst buyers and riders in its early days and through to the 1960s.
