This review is from: Keith Vaughan 1912-1917: Drawings of the Young Male (Paperback)
Keith Vaughan was one of the greatest British artists of the 20th century, who has been largely eclipsed at present. These drawings have a marked character in the line, rough-hewn and expressive. One of a sleeping youth is amazing, there's something about the line that is unique, even though they are simple drawings of one or two figures. The erotic charge of the artist's gaze is felt on every page of this beautifully produced volume.
