4.0 out of 5 stars It's very hard to go wrong with a book like this.
A fantastic introduction to Japanese writing, with most aspects fully explained and plenty space for practice. Naturally, it's best to write in pencil so you can erase and practise till you're blue in the face. Definitely a valuable tool for anybody starting out on the study of Japanese.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but no good for testing
Personally I learn by trying to memorise a batch of letters and then test myself on them. This book just gives you the chance to write out each character about 15 times then move on tot he next. There is no space for testing yourself. So in one way the book is fine if that's all you want but it wasn't for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap way to learn kana, 7 Jan 2012
This review is from: Easy Kana Workbook: Basic Practice in Hiragana and Katakana for Japanese Language Students (Paperback)
This is probably the cheapest way to learn kana. other books like "lets learn hiragana" "lets learn katakana" cost roughly £7-10 each. This one was just £4 and it teaches the kana just as well as the other 2 books i mentioned. (i got the other 2 as a BD present from someone who didnt know I was way past the kana stage, hence I have all 3 books)
