4.0 out of 5 stars Shock and Awe, 1 Feb 2011
Want a book that wakes your sorry academic minds up to the realities that will be realised within the next decade or so if left unchecked. This book will leave you wondering why you never found it before. Yes it's expensive...and even some University still do not stock it. But if the tenth addition is anything like the ninth then it remains very relevant for many disciplines. Personally my fascination with the ninth edition was with 'John Hardwigs' - 'is there a duty to die'. The UK coalition party is about to do the 'Big Society' bid, where the emphasis of responsibility is placed in the community'. A very apt and timely chapter considering an act of charity is what UK citizens are being asked to do. Will this chapter shed light for those that are frail on how their act of charity can be realised? Likewise, similar chapters will lead you to conclude the title is apt which makes very disturbing reading.
