Ideal book for trainee teachers of the more mature student,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reflective Teaching in Further and Adult Education (Continuum Studies in Lifelong Learning) (Paperback)
This book is an ideal book for Cert Ed students as many of the ideas and concepts are applicable to students of all levels and abilities.More importantly, unlike many other teaching books, the theories and ideas lead themselves to be readily adapted when teaching mature students (as opposed to the norm 16 - 19 year old FE student).

Reflective teaching in further and adult education,
This review is from: Reflective Teaching in Further and Adult Education (Continuum Studies in Lifelong Learning) (Paperback)
A good, down to earth book that can be applied to cert ed study or to your teaching in the classroom. Her description on the back is so real: It is Monday, a new course is starting......the room is at the end of a long corridor, there are no signs to it......one window does not close properly......there is an old overhead projector with a smudge on the glass.......An easy to read book for teachers and cert ed students. Reflective Teaching in Further and Adult Education,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Reflective Teaching in Further and Adult Education 2nd Edition (Paperback)
Reflective Teaching in Further and Adult EducationI am studying at present for The Cert Ed in Further and Adult Education Teaching (Yr 2) and the additional literacy specialisation (ADTLLS) This book is brilliant for anyone required to use reflection techniques (for example, reflective diary, journal, written assignments with reflective criteria, etc) or anyone just aiming to improve personally on their feedback and evaluation methods. Hillier is clear, she writes assuming the reader may know little or nothing about this subject (therefore anyone can start reading & using this book straight away) I've also found it very easy to reference; to use direct quotes from this book in order to prove specific points of view. I started off by borrowing this book from the library, but found that I use it constantly, so I then bought it new from Amazon. It is very competitively priced, provides excellent value for money and delivery to my home only took 24hours. Easy to read as a whole book, easy to go quickly through it and look for specific things, what more can I say?! I don't often buy teaching books (it could get very expensive & you can't buy everything you need to use on a mature student & single parent budget) but this one, I feel is worth it. Hope this helps others, Julie.
