5.0 out of 5 stars The epitome of 'rock and roll' photography., 15 Nov 2000

This review is from: Linda McCartney's Sixties - Portrait of an Era (Paperback)
Linda McCartney's 'Sixties, Portraits of an era' is a beautiful book with an amazing selection of photographs from a very influential era. It is perhaps, and certainly in my view, the epitome of rock and roll photography. Linda McCartney's photos capure the essense of some of the most famous 'rock & roll' musicians of the sixties, exposing the characters and sometimes tragic stories and lives underneath the glamour and fame associated with these musicians. This book will appeal to young and old alike -from those remembering their youth to those exploring the influential musicians and period of the sixties for the first time. Not forgetting other budding photographers. But the most pleasing aspect lies in the story of Linda herself, the journey of her life and how her friendships with the musicians developed behind the lens, and of course, the photos themselves. This really is a spectacular collection of photographs - if you think I'm being biased read it for yourself! (I would also strongly recommend reading her book 'Sun prints')
