This book is certainly a contribution to the Iranian studies of the 20th Century. However where it fails is in the author's choice of the "eminents". It is stated in the foreword that the current 150 persons were short listed from an initial list of 700. To me , however, it apears the names were taken at random from a hat. I question the author's choice. Many of those omitted made more of a contribution to Iran than those included. It applies to the fields of politics, arts, education, music etc. It is therefore, in my mind, an injustice to all those greart men and women who had a pivotal role in the making of our great nation (in the period under study) not to be mentioned where lesser persons were.
