As I'm in the process of writing my thesis on contemporary adaptations on classic texts I'm killing myself trying to find books that mention the films I'm interested in... this book was an absolute god send.
As well as more academic (although still immensly readable) essays on adaptations and the decisions that have been made it also talks about the less academic films, such as 'Clueless'
The books is a fascinating read and I recommend it to everyone who has an interest in Jane Austen films. Terrific for students or fans of Austen alike
