Given the relatively low price for this book I had what I thought were appropriately realistic expectations of the book and it's content. Was I ever wrong! This is an encyclopaedic book covering everything through uniforms, vehicles used, organisation, unit information etc. Very nicely presented, simply superb offering with many excellent B&W photos along with a colour section showing items of uniforms and shoulder straps. I took the book to my modelling club after which 75% of them bought their own copy! I would love to see the author produce another volume on the same topic if he has the material or indeed, any related topic. Top value for money.

I got this book as I feel overall there are very few other books on this topic with this kind of detail. I am sure this book would be of benefit to avid modellers as well as anyone with a passing interest in German Armour and I cannot recommend this title strongly enough, for the price alone.. this deserves 5 stars. `

It does contain lots of photos of German armoured reconnaissance units in World War II, some I have 'never-seen-before'. It gives a sound examination of the development of the reconnaissance force and how Germany rehearsed this and finally put into to action. It covers all types- :light armoured cars, command-and-control vehicles, foreign armoured cars half-tracks, and motorcycles. There is also a very good colour section which has lot of period photos and uniform details. A welcome new addition to the subject

A well researched book by a former American armoured Recce officer who worked with the post war german recce troops. A great amount of information and unpublished photos for a modest price,

I espected a lot about this book, and of course is a good book, but it does not fill my great expectations. It reminds me a army text book. Refering to the photographs. I would like something like the picture in the coverture, but this is not the kind of picture that most illustrates this books. I think that my opinion can be a little help for someone looking for advice. you will get more help in the other rewiews

Having been interested in the history of WWII German Armour since the 80's ,I was amazed at this book's content. So many previously unpublished black and white photos and a large Colour section of genuine pictures and Uniforms detail. Cannot recommend this book enough 10/10
