I had wanted to read Tim Haaslers work on the Westwal battles for some time. But when I moved to a German Village literally just inside the lines of Dragons teeth it became compelling.
The author has created an extremely readable account of the brief life of Panzer Brigade 105, and some of the actions following the retreat behind the vaunted Westwall (Siegfried Line). He details with pains-takingly thorough research many aspects that military history enthusiasts will find extremely interesting. The style of writting lends an immediacy to the narrative that makes you want to continue reading. There are ample tables, photographs and organisation listings for the most fact thirsty to lap up. Highly recommend.
