I bought this book as a gift for my American husband who has long been an admirer of Norman Rockwell's work. He remembers a lot of the pictures, magazine covers etc., from his childhood, and the book brought back lots of memories.
Norman's pictures are so appealing, especially those of rosy cheeked children and family gatherings, and his depictions of adults in different situations can be related to by most people. One series of pictures I liked in particular is of the 'Gossips.' The book is reminiscent of times when family life and work ethics were important to the majority.
All the Norman Rockwell books would make a great collection in any library.
