There dont seem to be many books on staircase building by UK authors. This one is very useful, but the US style of stairmaking is a bit different to the UK.
More of a book to dip into for ideas & a few tips, rather than a step-by-step guide.
Well written with lots of diagrams & pictures & good value for money.

This is an excellent look into the world of stair building. You get drawings and instructions for the setting out and construction of all types of stairs from the straight to the much maligned but impressive looking curved stairs. This is definitely one of the best books I've come across on this particular subject, it's clearly written and easy to follow. Although you won't become an expert by just reading up on it I think this book will be a fantastic aide to anyone involved in stairs work.

Constructing Staircases, Balustrades and Landings: Buildings Basics Series (Buildings Basics), bought this for my husband whom is a bespoke cabinetmaker & he said this book is very interesting.
